Interview for the Purpose of Admission to Higher Education

After submitting an application for enrolment in the eVŠ information system (to the email address provided in their application for enrolment), candidates will receive an invitation to an interview with full details - the members of the University of Maribor have the authority to conduct interviews in accordance with their specificities and their practice, but within the common framework presented by the Guidelines for conducting an interview at University of Maribor.

INTERVIEW DEADLINES

1. Undergraduate and joint master's study programmes:

  • FIRST APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR FOREIGNERS (citizens of non-EU countries) for study programmes in Slovenian and English (18 February – 18 March 2026): members of the University of Maribor will conduct interviews no later than 10 April 2026.
  • SECOND APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR FOREIGNERS (citizens of non-EU countries) for study programmes in Slovenian and English (3 and 4 September 2026): members of the University of Maribor will conduct interviews no later than 11 September 2026.

2. Postgraduate study programmes:

  • FIRST APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR FOREIGNERS (citizens of non-EU countries) for study programmes in Slovenian and English (31 March – 30 April 2026): members of the University of Maribor in Maribor will conduct interviews no later than 18 May 2026.
  • SECOND APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR FOREIGNERS (citizens of non-EU countries) (24 August – 4 September 2026): members of the University of Maribor will conduct interviews no later than 18 September 2026.

3. Application deadlines for enrolment in the senior year, application deadline for parallel studies (application deadline for parallel studies applies only to postgraduate study programmes) (1 – 8 September 2026): members of the University of Maribor will conduct interviews no later than 18 September 2026.

4. Deadline for filling vacant enrollment places (undergraduate: 23 – 24 September 2026 until 10 am; postgraduate: 22 – 23 September 2026 until 12 pm): during the deadline for filling vacant places, citizens of non-EU countries – foreigners may also apply, if so judged by individual members of the University of Maribor. Regardless of the judgment of the members of the University of Maribor, it is valid that during the deadline for filling places, only citizens of non-EU countries – foreigners who do not require a direct interview for enrollment regarding the candidate's suitability with regard to the enrollment conditions of the study program, as stipulated in the sixth paragraph of Article 13 of the ZViS-1, or who have successfully completed the interview within the previous application deadlines, and who do not require a decision on the recognition of foreign education for the purpose of continuing education at the University of Maribor or who have already obtained such a decision, may apply.

INTERVIEW DETAILS

Based on the received list of candidates to be interviewed, the members of the University of Maribor send the candidates an invitation to an interview in the form of a letter to the email address they provided in their application for enrolment.

Before the interview begins, the candidates' identities are checked. Candidates are identified with their passports.

The interview will be conducted in English or Slovenian, depending on the language of instruction of the study program for which the candidate has applied.

Candidates may only be interviewed once within the framework of the call for applications for a particular academic year in all application deadlines.

Members of the University of Maribor issue a notification of successful interview to candidates who attend and successfully complete the interview, and send it to the email addresses that the candidates provided in their application for enrolment.

If candidates do not complete the interview, do not attend the interview, do not provide payment for the interview in time, or the interview is interrupted (multiple times) due to an inadequate internet connection or malfunctioning information technology on the candidates' side, a decision to reject their application will be issued, thereby rejecting their applications. A rejection decision will completely stop all procedures related to the candidate's application for enrolment and all other applications within the framework of an individual call for enrolment. There is no appeal against the decision.
