the University of Maribor issued additional instructions regarding the prevention measures for spreading of Coronavirus – Covid19 in Slovenia.
From Friday, 13th of March till revocation all the Faculties will be obliged to reduce contacts between the students and students and professor or other staff to minimum in order to prevent spreading of the virus between population. The Faculties will organize most of the study process online. They will use different platforms and will inform you accordingly regarding your study or practice obligations. Instructions about the study process at UM FERI will be given via e-mail or on eŠtudij portal. Please follow the instructions and check student e-mail regularly.
You have also noticed that most of the public gatherings and other social activities have been cancelled in last days as a measure of prevention. Slovenian government is taking all the necessary actions in preventing the spreading. The number of infected individuals is still small in Slovenia and we would like to keep it this way.
We would also like to kindly ask you all to not use this extra time off for travelling around Europe– as many Erasmus students like to do and some of them even suggested to us that this would be their plan for the next days – as we really would like to prevent the spreading as much as possible. Stay at home as much as possible and avoid crowds indoors.
Additionally, office hours on UM FERI at Office for Students Affairs are canceled - Faculty is closed. We wold like to encourage you to arrange most of the communication through the e-mails.
In the week before the closure of UM FERI, company KIVI COM d.o.o. delivered eleven smart parcel boxes Direct4.Me. Smart parcel boxes are the result of the development and production of KIVI COM d.o.o. company and are intended for the project work in the 2nd year of the Computer Science and Information Technology study programme. This is a brand new product (the use of Direct4.Me started in December 2019 in cooperation with Pošta Slovenije company), and students of UM FERI will be the first in the world to have the opportunity to use this product to realize their own ideas.
