In December 2020, under the auspices of the Horizon 2020 European funding program, the four-year international project DAPHNE, Integrated Data Analysis Pipelines for Large-Scale Data Management, HPC, and Machine Learning, was officially launched.
The project will include extreme-scale analytics, in the fields of natural sciences, computer and information sciences, such as quantitative analysis, machine learning in the topic of artificial intelligence and data analysis in the topic of data science. The project consists of 13 consortium partners (with UM FERI as one of the partners) and is coordinated by Know-Center GmbH (Austria).
UM FERI is involved in project work from project management, system architecture, compilation and abstraction of a domain-specific language, runtime and integration, through use case preparations, benchmarking and analysis to dissemination and exploitation of project results. The project holder for UM FERI part of the project is assoc. prof. dr. Ales Zamuda from the Laboratory for Computer Architectures and Languages at the Institute of Computer Science. Researchers from the Laboratory for Programming Methodologies, the Laboratory for Heterogeneous Computer Systems, the Laboratory for Geometric Modeling and Multimedia Algorithms and the Laboratory for System Software also integrally participate in the project.
