Why did you come to FERI and what are you doing here?
I'm here to learn about data processing earth observations, about radar and what we can do with it. The company I work for is actually a Geographic information system (GIS) company, we observe the landscape, forests, etc..
Is this your first time in Slovenia?
Yes, I am here for the first time. I did not have much time for sightseeing, but I was at a football game and walked around city a little. Perhaps I will manage to visit Pohorje. I am leaving on Saturday.
How do you like it here?
I do not know a lot of Irish people who were already here, so I did not really know what to expect. Most of us at least approximately know where Slovenia is or might have heard of Ljubljana, but not Maribor. It was also hard to get to you from Ireland, there aren't good connections and I traveled almost 18 hours by plane and train. But I don't regret it. Slovenia is much nicer and peaceful than I imagined. I met some PhD students, all people here are friendly, relaxed and speak English very well.
