FERI receives Silver Award at MOS 2024 for its contribution to the Science-Economy Nexus

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics of the University of Maribor was the 56th. The University of Informatics and Technology was once again at the forefront of the 56th International Fair of Crafts and Entrepreneurship (MOS) 2024. More than 50 innovations in the field of high technologies and new business models were presented at this year's event, which took place from 18 to 22 September in Celje, within the framework of the "Science and Economy Meeting Point", led by Janez Škrlec from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.
FERI participated in the event by presenting its latest technological achievements in various fields. We focused on the advanced technological solutions that we are developing at our faculty.
We are pleased to announce that FERI has been awarded the Silver Award of the Cologne Fair for its innovative work in the field of electrical engineering and computer science. This award is a reflection of the professionalism, innovation and commitment to progress that our faculty demonstrates in both research and economic fields. A number of our researchers and students also presented their projects and innovations during the presentations, thus continuing the successful integration of science and business.
The Science-Business Nexus once again attracted a lot of attention from visitors, especially students, and provided an insight into the latest technologies and trends, such as micro, bio and nanotechnologies, bionics and space technologies. In fact, the Science-Business Nexus received three awards at MOS 2024. The Gold Award of the Cologne Fair by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation thanks to the innovation - the bionic head as a technology platform by Janez Škrlec. We received the Silver Award of the Celje Fair, and the special award for the bionic head as an innovation and technological platform was also awarded to Janez Škrlec by the Municipality of Celje, for which we congratulate him.
FERI would like to thank the organisers and all the partners involved, especially our researchers, whose work contributes to the development of technological innovation in Slovenia and beyond. This award is an additional motivation for our further activities in the field of science and technological progress.
